A Person More Successful Than Elon Musk - Read Along
When it comes to success, we often think of famous entrepreneurs, movie stars, and athletes who seem to have it all. This is how the media and modern society often promotes success. You are a loser if you are not as rich as Elon Musk, as handsome as George Clooney, as talented as Mozart, or as athletic as Kobe Bryant.

It's us. Yes, you read it right - we could be more successful than Elon Musk. Not in the future, but now.

Trust me, this is not a chicken soup for the soul type of article. I am going to argue logically - that you could probably be more successful that Elon Musk. Read along.

Myth of Celebrity Success

When it comes to success, we often think of famous entrepreneurs, movie stars, and athletes who seem to have it all. This is how the media and modern society often promotes success.

You are a loser if you are not as rich as Elon Musk, as handsome as George Clooney, as talented as Mozart, or as athletic as Kobe Bryant.

A Multidimensional Point System

Now, consider a point system and assume that achieving success in each category is worth 10 points, for a total of 60 points.

  • Wealth and Fame
  • Talent
  • Your appearance
  • Relationships
  • Quality of life
  • Mental and Physical Health

Now, we work on the point system together.

  • Let's face it, we could never be as rich as Elon, not in this life (probably not in the next 10 lives as well).
  • We probably also are not as innvoate and talented as Elon as him (He built paypal, tesla and is building spaceships. What are we doing?).
  • Here is our chance - are you better looking than him? I will say it's a 50-50.
  • Not to dig into other scars, but he has divorced three times. How is your relationship with your better half - maybe you are doing better?
  • Elon is famous of working non-stop. Do you enjoy your weekends and rest time? Do you think it is healthy monitoring twitter posts the entire day?
  • Even for something you are not that great at, maybe you are better at it than Elon. Maybe you are a piano player, maybe you are a good badminton player. This we don't know.

I hope it is apparent by now that I am not arguing that your wealth or how you look are unimportant. I am as materialistic as every capitalistic and lawyers and bankers out there. (I certainly wish I am taller and look better, and I definitely wish to have the financial freedom that Elon is having. )

Seek your own success

The point is, life is multidimensional. There must be something you have that others are envy of. This is not just wishful thinking, this is logic.

Success comes in many different forms. Focus on what matters most to you. Set reasonable and achieveable goals. Measuring our progress against our own criteria. You could achieve your own success.

What about you? Do you agree with the above definition of success?
